Helping Hearts Web Site Design and Hosting
What better way to show your support for the Helping Hearts fund raising appeal than by having a Helping Hearts Web Site? Show the world that you really care that our Cavaliers have healthy hearts!
I will design either a single page or a small web site for you, and host this at CavalierKingCharles.com for a year. I have tried to offer as many special interactive features as possible to make these offers an attractive bargain for you.
I am aware that there are many free options now for you to publish your web pages, but I believe that what I am offering is exceptionally good value for money, and you also get the benefit of having your pages on hosted and maintained on a long established and internationally known Cavalier website, or now alternatively under your own domain name.
This is an ideal way to start your presence on the web if you do not currently have either the time or the knowledge to design and maintain your own site! And you can be sure that you are in safe hands as I have had experience of designing and maintaining (both personally and professionally), and hosting web sites since 1996, and have long-term experience in CGI and other) programming.
The majority of the charges made for this service will go to the Millennium Health Appeal, but I will need to take a small sum to cover administrative, phone, and web hosting, domain and registration (where applicable) charges. Please email me if you require further information.
The options below are detailed to give you a feel for what can be done, if you would prefer alternative options, please ask.
Helping He@rts Web Options
Single Web Page
Suitable for a small business advert for your kennel, or a small feature page for a special pet. I would be happy to do a variant of this page as a memorial for any Cavalier that has died from MVD; basic format would be the same with a possible rainbow theme, and an extra link added to the Rainbow Bridge web site. For the first two MVD requests I receive (UK only), I will waive the admin charges for the current year.

What you get:
- single web page
- one fancy text logo
- three small photos or other graphics (your choice; check out resources page for suitable graphics) these may be static or used in a small Java image rotation applet, see below.
- two hundred and fifty words of text (your words)
- three links to your favourite web pages, either as Java buttons or in drop down menu
- one email link to an existing email address
- choice of background colour, texture, or small background image, and text colour from a selection
- one small midi file (your choice; check out resources page)
- one small gif animation (your choice; check out resources page)
- one Java image rotation applet (will use your image allowance!) or scrolling news applet
All pages will include:
- Helping He@rts logo
- CGI drop down menu with links to Helping He@rts page and UK CKCS appeal page
Page name will be in the form:
CavalierKingCharles.com/Helping_He@rts/your_choice_of_name.shtml
You can choose you affix/kennel name, dogs name etc for the page name
(name to consist of letters, numbers, _ or - )
What it will cost:
£30 (£25 with £5 admin fee and 12
months hosting charges)
Maximum web space allowed 250 kilobytes.
Renewals:
At the end of 12 months you may opt to continue having your page hosted
at CavalierKingCharles.com for a further period.
Annual charge £15 (£10 donation to fund, £5 admin and
hosting charges) Please add £5 if you wish to include major update
to your page.
You may prefer to move it to a different (possibly free) service provider, but please note that the cgi drop-down menu will no longer be available if you choose to do this. And, in order to continue using any Java applets, the setup instructions and class files will have to be obtained from the original source, uploaded to your new ISP, and your web page modified to reflect to your new setup.
Suitable for those of you who want to be a bit more adventurous with your pages; or for those show people or breeders who wish to make more of a professional impression on the web, as you will have a top level domain name for your page and email address. your lovely Cavaliers deserve the best!!
You may alternatively, for an extra charge, opt to have your own domain name, e.g. mycavaliers.co.uk , which I will maintain and host for you. See below for charges.

- about 2000 words of text (approx 400 per page)
- up to twenty small photos or other graphics
- approximately five web pages including (if you wish!):
- one introductory/welcome page
- one photo gallery or Java slide show page (included in photo allowance!)
- one guest book, with up to one hundred entries (hosted by CavalierKingCharles.com, so there will be no annoying adverts or pop-ups)
- choice of background colour, texture, background image (from selection or you can supply; check out resources page), and text colour
- links to the other pages on your site via CGI drop down menu, graphics buttons or Java push buttons
- one email redirection from your_name_or_affix@cavalierkingcharles.com or your_name@your_affix.co.uk to your existing email address
Optional extras:
- up to two small gif animations (your choice; check out resources page) or 1 small Java applet (from selection)
- up to two small midi files (your choice; check out resources page)
- up to ten links to other pages (your selection)
- one email request form

What it costs:
Option 1: £125 (£100 donation
to fund, with £25 admin fee and 12 months hosting charges)
Maximum webspace allowed 1 megabyte.
Option 2: £175 (£125 donation
to fund, with £50 admin fee, domain name registration, and 12 months hosting charges)
Maximum webspace allowed 2 megabytes.
Two small updates to site will be included in the price. Additional updates
at £10 per hour.
Renewals:
At the end of 12 months you may opt to continue having your site hosted
at CavalierKingCharles.com for a further period.
Annual charge:
Option 1: £75 (£50 donation to fund, £25 admin
and hosting charges) or you may prefer to move your site to a different
service provider.
Option 2: £85 (£50 donation to fund, £35 admin
and hosting charges) or you may prefer to move your site to a different
service provider; you would retain your domain name.
Be aware that if you choose to move,the following will no longer be available:
- cgi drop-down menu
- guest book
- email redirection
In order to continue using any Java applets, the setup instructions and class files will have to be obtained from the original source, uploaded to your new ISP, and your web pages modified to reflect to your new setup.
Payment
Please note that due to high currency conversion charges, payment must be in UK pounds sterling, or must include the extra Bank handling charges; this was somewhere in the region of £10 for sums under £100 and 12.5% of total for sums over this amount last year. I will confirm this upon request.
